Going the Distance: Week 3March 10, 2011 - 1:40 pm
Editor’s Note: Ben Gordon, Jr., has generously consented to sharing his journey and story with our online community.
On Saturday, February 26, the team met at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center for a 4.5 mile run/walk. It was a beautiful day; the weather was near perfect!
On Thursday, I started having severe abdominal pains and ended up having to have my gall bladder removed on Saturday morning at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital. For this reason, I was unable to attend the training session, but this is not going to stop me from participating in the Ukrop’s Monument 10K. This is merely a hurdle along the way!
When I’m turned loose to train, I’ll have to kick it up a notch or two!!! I’ve come too far to turn back now!!! I’ve got too many people in the Bon Secours St. Mary’s Sports Medicine training team who are here supporting me to succeed!!!!!
